ABOUT ME

I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in media, marketing and communication studies in both seated and online environments. I am the author of two books and several journal publications. My research  consists of transmedia storytelling as a pedagogy and a way of seeking meaning and purpose in life. I cross the boundaries between art, science, faith, and fiction in search of truth.

In addition to teaching, research and consulting, I am enthralled by the exploration of narrative identity. I am interested in how narratives bring about emotional engagement and influence the way we teach and learn. My aspiration is for every learner to be engaged in the learning process.

I have written three feature length screenplays as part of my practice-based research: The Goddess Within (romantic dramedy), which won the Orson Welles Award from the California Film Awards, Timescape (scifi action thriller) and Silver Fox (romantic comedy).

My book, Transmedia Storytelling and the New Era of Media Convergence in Higher Education brings together a lifetime of experience in media and education – the first book of its kind to unite Hollywood and academia – which may very well be the new Ivy League.
